To enable access via your iPhone / iPad / iPod Touch follow these steps on the Server Machine

  • Go to File > Sharing > Instant Web Publishing
  • Click to turn on Instant Web Publishing
  • If you receive an error that the port is in use, try changing it to 8080
  • Skype and some other programs may use port 80 (which is the default web-server port)
  • Make note of the URL
  • Click OK to close
Some routers may also require that you adjust port forwarding options, to forward port 80 to the host machine's IP address.  Unfortunately the instructions for this can vary by manufacturer / model, however the instruction guide for your router should provide further instructions.

With a little extra setting up, you can also make the data available over the internet

However, Please be aware that we have not added any security in place at the moment, so this is not yet advisable. Therefore, we recommend leaving it accessible only on your secured local network.

Also, please remember that the above remote interface is currently pre-release, you may (or may not) encounter issues with it, however is provided purely for preview purposes.
